Ayurveda, the ancient Indian wisdom of life, recognizes three main body-mind types with different innate tendencies and physical traits. These body-mind types (or dosha’s) are called Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Vata is like the wind and when looking to birds, can be compared to a humming bird; mobile, light and spontaneous. Pitta is fiery and can be compared to an eagle; intense, focused and intelligent. Kapha is earthy and can be compared to a swan: strong, slow-paced and calm. Do you recognize yourself in one or more types? Ayurveda says that we always contain all three dosha’s. The proportion of these dosha’s present in us, can vary and this is what makes us unique.
